Fuga grew out of onde toca a banda? — a platform created in 2019 to map and celebrate Portugal's philharmonic band culture. What started as a way to support that project became something with its own identity: a store for people who carry a relationship with art into the objects around them.

Launched in January 2019 with an exclusive focus on philharmonic bands, onde toca a banda? was created with the aim of valuing and giving greater visibility to the cultural activity of these institutions — true pillars of musical tradition and civic education in Portugal.

In response to the growth of the community and the recognition of the importance of other ensembles, the platform began, in January 2023, to also include events from military bands — historically significant but with limited visibility.

Fuga emerges from the same conviction that built onde toca a banda? — that music deserves to be seen, celebrated and present in daily life. A store for objects that carry that same intention: chosen with care, for what they evoke.
